This quick and easy authentic guacamole recipe will take less than 5 minutes to make - you'll never want to buy store own again!

Chunky Authentic Guacamole Recipe

Guacamole isn't just about mashing an avocado. Sure, it'll taste ok, but to get authentic guacamole you need to add a few more ingredients.

This will get you a delicious tasting, chunky guacamole.

However, if you prefer it smoother, just keep chopping for a little longer.

Serve your guacamole with tortilla chips as a dip or it’s a delicious addition to a fajita!

It's best to eat guacamole as soon as you've made it as can go brown (and it does make me wonder what on earth they add to guacamole you buy in shops to keep it green - yuck!).

If you find you make a little too much, or you want to make it ahead of time, make sure to cover it very tightly in clingfilm to prevent it going brown.

Authentic Guacamole Recipe

Ingredients

3 very ripe avocados

1 red onion finely chopped

1-2 chillies (deseeded)

Bunch fresh coriander

2 large tomatoes

4 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper

How to make guacamole step by step

Remove the flesh from the avocado.

To do this easily, pit the avocado by slicing it from top to the bottom and give it a twist.

Tap a knife into the stone, twist and it'll come out easily. Then scoop out all the avocado.

On a large chopping board finely chop the avocado with the onion and the chilli.

How to make guacamole step by step

Add most of the coriander and the tomatoes and continue to chop all together.

Add the lime juice, with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Place the mashed ingredients into a bowl to serve.

Serve with tortillas as a dip or it’s a delicious addition to a fajita!

If you're not eating the Guacamole straight away place in the bowl and cover the surface of the guacamole with clingfilm to stop it going brown.

I've never thought about making guacamole at home instead grabbing a pot from the supermarket. Got the kids to help make this as its so easy. They loved it too.
