As a spooky treat for Halloween, treat your kids by tricking them with green witches fingers for pudding! They may look evil, but taste sweet.
Spooky, but sweet, witches fingers
Halloween is all about trick and treats.
Give your kids a big trick by making then eat "witches fingers".
They're really easy to make and look strangely evil, but realistic!
Here's what you need to make 20 fingers:
- 20 blanched almonds
- Red food dye
- Bright green icing
- 20 strawberry pencils
If you don't want to use strawberry pencils, you can use straight pretzels, chocolate fingers, whatever straight food you have!
How to make them
First off, you need to make sure whatever you use are finger-sized. So, cut them down to size (any spare you can eat as you have to hide the evidence!).
Put the almonds in a small bowl and add 3-4 drops of red food dye.
Make sure the almonds get fully covered and leave to one side to soak.
This bit is slightly messy - cover entirely the fingers with green icing.
As the icing will be wet, do half the finger then rotate once dried and complete the other half.
Once the finger is fully covered and dry, use a sharp knife to create the finger details.
Add three lines below where the would be nail and mark three lines below to make knuckles.
Then, finish the fingers off by adding the red almonds to create the nail.
